Liquor Licensing

Whether you are a restaurant owner, prospective hotelier, publican or off licence owner, our dedicated Licensing team, headed up by member of the Institute of Licensing Karen Blair, is well versed in all issues relating to the licensed trade sector.

The team has a detailed knowledge of the licensing legislation and application process which is significantly different from the regulation in Great Britain.  We are well placed to provide an all round service to the licensed trade with property and corporate experience - particularly for businesses interested in establishing in Northern Ireland.

Since entering the Northern Ireland market, we have dealt with all the hotel and public house premises for the Whitbread Group.  We are able to provide clients with a full range of legal services working closely with our property and commercial teams.

Our breadth of experience enables us to advise both those entering the licensing trade for the first time and those with several licensed premises on the basic requirements and the intrinsic licensing provisions in Northern Ireland from occasional licenses to public houses.

We provide a full range of services from pre application consultation with architects over the licensing drawings requirements right through to final grant.

We have dealt with all types of liquor licence from the one off occasional licence to the final grant new public house premises.  We also have experience of dealing with the more unusual variety of conference centre licences and are able to guide clients through the process.  We successfully appealed the conference centre licence refusal for the Market Place, Armagh.
