IPR & Technology
The IPR side is led by Brendan Fox who handles piracy, infringement and counterfeiting claims.
His team consists of litigation and commercial lawyers who provide advice in both contentious and non-contentious matters with a depth of resources and specialisms. They are recognised for their significant experience in alternative dispute resolution, particularly mediation and arbitration.
We have extensive trademark and design rights experience with clients ranging from blue-chip technology companies, such as Dyson and Phillips, to public sector organisations. The litigators have experience obtaining Anton Piller Orders, pursuing and defending injunctive proceedings and handling high value claims against copyright pirates and trade mark and patent infringers.
The technology side of the team is led by Jennifer Ebbage who provides pragmatic, effective advice on key areas such as drafting bespoke software contracts, licensing software, intellectual property rights issues and technology transfer.
We also advise on major IT Procurement projects and assisted Hewlett-Packard Limited in its role as main sub-contractor to Fujitsu Services Limited in a major Government IT Project in Northern Ireland valued at £35 million. We have completed transactions for other well known companies such as Northern Ireland Science Park; ICONI Software and Stream International.
