Julie-Ann joined the Dispute Resolution department upon qualification having completed her training contract at Cleaver Fulton Rankin. She studied at University College Dublin where she graduated with a Joint Honours degree in Business and Law and also has a Certificate in Human Rights and Criminal Justice from Queen’s University, Belfast. Aside from general Commercial Litigation, Julie-Ann’s main areas of work include Construction Law and EU Public Procurement Regulations.
Julie-Ann has a particular interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution and is a UK and Internationally accredited Mediator having completed her training with the ADR Group and the International Academy of Dispute Resolution. Throughout 2014, Julie-Ann organised a series of successful sector-specific Mediation Masterclasses to demonstrate the mediation process to clients and contacts.
During her time at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Julie-Ann was awarded the Belfast Solicitors Association Prize for Client Consulting and the Denis Kearney Memorial Prize for Client Care. Her other awards include being recognised as an “Outstanding Individual Mediator” at an International Mediation Competition in Chicago, the 2012 CEDR Tony Curtis Award for a Young Professional and highly commended Mediation Champion at the 2014 Professional Mediators’ Association Awards.
Julie-Ann is the 2016 Chair of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors’ Association and is also Vice-President of the Executive Committee of the European Young Bar Association, a not-for-profit, multinational young lawyers association representing over 200,000 young lawyers from throughout Europe.
