Judith studied Law and Spanish (Joint Hons) at Queens University, during which she spent a year studying law in Universidad de Salamanca, graduating in 2005 from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies with a Distinction. Judith joined the Private Client department at Cleaver Fulton Rankin as an Assistant Solicitor in 2013 following her post qualification experience, managing the private client department in a well established Belfast family practice. In 2014, Judith was promoted to Associate Solicitor.
Judith is a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner having completed the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma in Trusts and Estates (Northern Ireland). During her studies, Judith was placed first in two of the modules and was awarded the 2014 Trust & Estate Accounting Student of the Year (NI) Award, for achieving the highest results in the Diploma.
Within the department Judith carries out work in relation to the drafting of wills and the administration of estates as well as matters relating to capacity such as Enduring Powers of Attorney and other applications to the Office of Care and Protection. She enjoys all aspects especially dealing with elderly clients in advising on the legal implications of succession planning, nursing care and mental capacity. Judith has a keen interest in the creation and administration of trusts and oversees the management of a substantial number of trusts on behalf of the firm’s corporate trustee, Cleaver Fulton Rankin Trustees Limited.
