Aisling studied Art and Design before moving on to Law at Trinity College Dublin, where she discovered her talent for employment issues. Having worked in the Employment Department at Matheson Solicitors in Dublin, Aisling joined our Employment Unit in 2001 and now handles wide-ranging employment and discrimination issues and advises on GDPR.
Aisling is qualified to practice in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and her approach has achieved successful conclusions and fulsome praise from clients representing both the public and private sector.
Aisling has a Masters in Human Rights and Discrimination Law from Queen’s University and completed the Law Society Mediation Course in 2017 and is now a qualified Mediator. Aisling regularly presents seminars both for clients and for a number of external bodies such as Women in Business, Chartered Institute of Builders, Chartered Institute of Marketing, the NI Bursars’ Association and she spoke at the ISACA Conference at Croke Park in Dublin in October 2017. Aisling is also a guest lecturer on the Masters in Digital Communication Course at Ulster University.
Aisling is ranked as a Star Associate in Chambers and she is quoted as “great to work with” providing “incredible practical advice and support in a number of very challenging situations”.
Aisling has also developed an expertise in GDPR and recently delivered a Seminar on GDPR to the In-house Lawyers’ Association of Northern Ireland, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the NI Bursars Association and she also delivered GDPR training for MBL Seminars.
Outside work, Aisling remains a keen painter and is a member of the Jordanstown Art Group. Aisling was a Board Member of the Belfast Printworkshop from 2012 to 2016 and is now a Board Member of Family Mediation Northern Ireland. She is a volunteer at the Belfast Child Contact Centre and is Secretary of the Management Committee. She also provides pro bono service to the Law Centre. Aisling is Treasurer of the Employment Lawyers Group Northern Ireland and a Member of the Employment Lawyers Group UK.
