A partner since 1998, Jennifer is a specialist in charity law, as well as focusing on a wide range of day to day corporate and commercial transactions including corporate finance, joint ventures, commercial contracts, technology related legal advice and IT/IP projects. Her work includes collaborations, mergers and acquisitions, disposals of companies & businesses, corporate governance advice, software licensing and IT contracts.
On the charities side Jennifer is the leading individual in Northern Ireland, ranked top in Chambers UK 2009 in charity law. Clients report that "she has the ability to communicate the most technical issues to lay people". She heads up our Charities Unit and establishes charitable companies, advises boards of charity trustees on duties and provides advice on funding agreements. She has considerable experience of due diligence, transfers of charitable undertakings, charity mergers and collaboration agreements. She recently advised on the Volunteer Now merger and on the NI side of the Age Concern and Help the Aged merger. She is well versed in the new Charities Act for Northern Ireland and widely recognised as a key speaker on the topic.
Jennifer is highly regarded for her exceptional skills and experience as a commercial lawyer and is recognised as a leader in Corporate Finance and IT by both Chambers UK 2009, "a very safe pair of hands", and the Legal 500 2008.
