Head of our Private Client Department, Alastair has been described as a consummate professional who has ‘won client trust with a distinctive brand of legal ability and a warm character.’ Alastair is inspired by meeting and assisting different people through his work. He is adept at drafting wills, solving tax issues, administering complex estates and acting as a trustee and has spent 30 years specialising in legal issues of the elderly.
Alastair is a part-time chairman of The Pensions Appeal Tribunal for Northern Ireland and is a fee-paid part-time Judge of the First Tier Tax Tribunal and member of the Chancery Division Liaison Committee of the High Court of Justice in Northern Ireland. He is a past Chairman of the Northern Ireland branch of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and has been a member of the Council of the Law Society of Northern Ireland for over 20 years.
