August 30, 2018

Directors Lisa Boyd, Patrick Fleming and Aaron Moore will be speaking at The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Belfast Hub events on Tuesday 18 September, Tuesday 23 October and Tuesday 20 November 2018 at Cleaver Fulton Rankin Offices, 50 Bedford Street, Belfast.

Tuesday 18th September

Procurement and Tendering Tips

Director, Lisa Boyd will be providing Procurement and Tendering Tips. Whether you are drafting or responding to a call for tenders, the process can seem daunting. The rules are supposed to make things transparent, equal and non-transparent yet as bidders and contracting authority contact is limited and can feel anything but transparent!

This CPD seminar will give a general overview of the procurement process for above threshold tenders and what steps you can take to improve your chance of success. This seminar also aims to provide attendees with steps to take if they are unsuccessful and feel that there has been a breach of the procurement rules.

Tuesday 23 October

Key Issues in Standard Forms of Construction Documents

Director, Patrick Fleming will be discussing the key issues in standard forms of constructions documents. Details to follow.

Tuesday 20th November

Adjudication, Mediation and Litigation in professional Negligence cases

Director, Aaron Moore will be discussing adjudication, mediation and litigation in professional negligence cases. Parties faced with bringing or defending professional negligence claims can see those claims brought via Adjudication, Arbitration or Court based Litigation. Very often parties will see a claim brought first in Adjudication and then will have that claim finally determined by Arbitration or Court based Litigation. Insurers and the Courts are now promoting the use of Mediation to resolve disputes involving professional negligence.

This CPD seminar will give a general overview of the Mediation process, when it is used, how best to use it and at what stage in the proceedings it usually occurs. It will also look at the steps taken by Courts to encourage parties to use Mediation to resolve professional negligence disputes.
