April 24, 2015

On Tuesday 22nd of April 2015 the Chartered institute of Building (CIOB) conducted a seminar on new health & safety legislation at Cleaver Fulton Rankin’s offices on Bedford Street.

The main focus was on the proposed new Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. Speakers included Nancy Henry, Christine Edwards & Ian McCullough from HSE NI, Lisa Boyd from Clever Fulton Rankin, Jim Armstrong from DIMENSIONS Design & Management, Ronan Peace from H&J Martin and Colin Morrissey from Dickson & Co.

Lisa Boyd, Director at Clever Fulton Rankin commented,

“We were delighted to host the event, what we hope to be the first of many construction specific seminars for the CIOB. I was also equally delighted to be invited to speak alongside such influential construction professionals. The panel of speakers covered the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor roles as well as the insurance and legal implications of the proposed CDM Regulations. It was also equally important to have members of HSE NI address the audience on asbestos, work at heights and other on-site killers.”

Mark Gilmore, Chair of CIOB in Ireland’s Northern Centre commended,

“There was a very good turnout for this event which was great to see. There is continually new legislation being introduced that construction professionals needs to be aware of so seminars such as this provide our members with the opportunity to learn about what they need to comply with. We would very much like to thank Clever Fulton Rankin for facilitating the event”.
