Cleaver Fulton Rankin has created an important new gateway to Belfast City Centre through the expansion of its premises with financial support from Danske Bank.

Cleaver Fulton Rankin, a commercial law firm based at Bedford Street in Belfast city centre, has enhanced the streetscape of the Linen Conservation Area and its working environment by the introduction of new ground floor premises in this prominent location. The expansion features new meeting rooms and a business centre for the use of the firm’s clients. The company now employs almost 100 members of staff with proposals to expand further in the near future.

Karen Blair, Managing Director of Cleaver Fulton Rankin, said: “Our new offices are a statement of intent. We believe that it’s important to have a modern business frontage and a working environment fitted to the high quality of work that we do. Danske Bank has been an important partner in helping us to make this happen.

“We’ve got a dynamic team that blends youth with experience, and we wanted our new premises to reflect that. Now that there are more signs of economic optimism, we want to be positioned to provide our expert advice to even more businesses and individuals.”

Founded in 1893, Cleaver Fulton Rankin is one of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious law firms. The firm offers legal services for both commercial and private clients, as well as providing local representation for national and international firms. Cleaver Fulton Rankin also acts in Northern Ireland on behalf of legal firms from London, Dublin and Edinburgh.

Karen Blair concluded, “We’re confident that our investment, supported by Danske Bank, will help give us strong foundations for future growth.”

Ellen Matthews, Business Banking Manager, Danske Bank, said: “Cleaver Fulton Rankin has managed to sustain a vibrant legal business in the heart of Belfast for over a century, even amid the challenging economic environment of recent years. They provide a highly-specialised service for a wide-variety of clients and their expertise is recognised across the world.

“Business services form a substantial part of private sector activity in Northern Ireland and,   with the sector predicted by Danske Bank to grow by around 4 per cent in the year ahead, has the potential to act as a strong catalyst for future growth and export.

“We have entered in 2014 in a good position, with business confidence at its highest level for years and all the economic indicators are pointing towards an economic recovery.  At Danske Bank we will continue to work with high-quality businesses like Cleaver Fulton Rankin to provide financial and strategic support and advice to help them to meet both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead this year.”
