Cleaver Fulton Rankin – Helping Cancer Patients find their Zest for Life

February 10, 2012

Cleaver Fulton Rankin has adopted the Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) as its Charity Partner for 2012.

Staff at the leading local law firm will be participating in a number of challenges throughout the year to raise funds for UCF’s Zest for Life programme.

Zest for Life is UCF’s free, six week personal development programme for men and women who are at the end of their cancer treatment.  It has been designed to help people regain their energy and enthusiasm and to improve their physical and mental health.

Joyce Savage, Head of Appeals & Marketing, UCF said, “Everyone is unique and we understand that cancer affects everyone differently. Cancer can make people feel that they have lost control; increase feelings of isolation and can often reduce a person’s self-esteem.  Zest for Life aims to help people understand and manage stress, encourage positive thinking, adopt relaxation techniques and explore complementary therapies.

“By identifying personal values and realistic goal setting, people often regain a sense of balance and become empowered and motivated to move forward and embrace the future. Just as importantly, it gives them the chance to talk to people who have been through the same experience.

“We are delighted that Cleaver Fulton Rankin have chosen to support the Ulster Cancer Foundation and their fundraising efforts will fund our Autumn Zest for Life sessions across Northern Ireland.

Alastair Rankin, Director, Cleaver Fulton Rankin speaking about the partnership said, “All the staff at Cleaver Fulton Rankin are very excited about supporting and raising money for Ulster Cancer Foundation’s ‘Zest for Life’ programme.  As a local firm which has supported Northern Ireland business for over 100 years, it fits perfectly with our ethos to support a local charity whose work is focused on supporting local people.  I am looking forward to a successful partnership where we can make a direct and tangible contribution to the lives of ‘Zest for Life’ participants and their families.”
